ANYONE should be careful of catching scabies - it is the most destructive parasite. Theres is no cure and costs 1000's to be rid of the discusting mite. Doctors poo-poo the diagnosis because they cannot cure it. If someone in your home has it, tell them to move out until they have proof they are free of this menace.
Sara is wrong. It is actually relatively easy to get rid of scabies. Nix Cream usually gets rid of it with a couple of appications. It's expensive, but it works.
Good pictures. Scabies really can look different as a rash on various people. It gets aggravated by itching too. Usually they use the 5 percent pesticide cream in US and sometimes will do a 2nd application a week later. In India they use tumeric and neem oil.
sara , your saying i should tell my 6 year old son to move out of the house ?There are cures and it doesn't cost 1000's of dollars.i think the name of the product is dremil that works great.
I think saras confusing scabies with bed bugs, which are mentally destructive and is expensive to exterminate. not so with scabies...nix is one option and wasing everything worn/used in the last couple weeks should be washed in the hottest water possible or dried in a really hot dryer.

Hi there I currently have scabies, but have been given lyclear from the doctor which you applty and leave on for 8-12 hours then wash off! The dead mites cause itching for a further 3-4 weeks but this can be relieved with eurax cream... also used for dermatitus and eczema. I plan to re-apply lyclear in 7 days from the last treatment and keep using eurax. I have washed all my clothing, towels, underwear and bed linen at 50% or 60% and tumble dried it! I have also vacuumed all carpets anfd thrown the bag away! This is all the advice I have been given by medics and gathered info from bupa and NHS staff and websites. I am also 28 weeks pregnant and there is no full evidence that lyclear harms the unborn foetus. Thank you
So I have scabbies and went and seen the doctor and hes given me 5 percent pesticide cream but I still itch does it take a while for the itching to stop??
I had scabbies and the itch went away about a year later. My doctor had scabbies at one time and she said it took about a year for the reaction to end. I saw several other doctors who just thought it was in my head. Wrong. She was right after nearly a year I stopped having the itch that was so annoying for all that time. The only thing that worked to some degree was to take hot showers, really hot and exfoliate.

I am on my second treatment for scabies, I took a train out of state 6 weeks ago and paid 1350.00 for a room on the train. I brought back scabies, and bedbugs, I am livid, I had a treatment for scabies on easter sunday almost 2 weeks ago, the other day I noticed more marks, now on my back and butt and head,and my right ankle. first it was my head by my neck and large rashes on both elbows and both sides of my neck coming down the front of me, and acouple on my wrist, and left ankle.I have been bombing my room for bedbugs and my grand daughters room next to mine, just in case, been doing laundry for 2 weeks and bagging them as soon as they get out of the dryer, vacumming couches, beds pillows(plus washing them) etc, etc, And, now, again I am breaking out. I am freaking out, they won't go away. I just gave my 6 grand daughter who lives with me a treatment also even though she has no signs, I still have to get one for my boyfriend and my 21 yr old son so they can have a treatment too even though they have no signs of this discusting thing yet... the dr told me I would have to go to a dermatoligist ( a specialist) if the second time don't work or it will get worse, you can only have 2 treatments.
One week ago today I woke up with a large rash on my left side. I was diagnosed with scabbies and given medicine. I applied the cream. But after a few days I went for a second opion. This doctor told me I have pityrasis rosea which when looked up has several of the same symtoms. I'm so confused to whether I have it or not. He went ahead and give me one dose of invermicin just to calm me down. I am still itiching. Not much tho. I do not have any rash on face hands feet fingers. Please Help I need support!
My girlfriend and I have been battling this damned thing for six months now and have done 1 treatment of lyndane lotion and on our third treatment of permethrin cream my great is in tears for fear they wont go away we have cleaned everything in our house top to bottom so many times I've lost count and have been very careful to avoid any transfer by wearing latex gloves while cleaning. I have read of dermisil s which looks promising and dexoprin which its been hard to find reviews on either does anybody know if either of these products work? I just don't want to get ripped

i have this it blows! my ex boyfriend gave it to me. he was sleeping around. i read it is like an std in adults. well i never got checked when i started itching cuz my ex told me it was poison ivy, bullshit i dumped him three days after itching and after five weeks of itching my current boyfriend told me to go to doc. so i did. to find out it was this. i was disgusted! i feel even worse since i gave it to my new boyfriend before i found out what i had so yea. anyways i went to doc and he gave me a rx and to find out when i go to fill it my insurance dropped me so i bought an over the counter lice wash(the pharmacist said it would work huh bull) that did not work. im going to spend the twenty dollars get the cream and spend the six dollars for the wash as well just to make sure. ive been cleaning nonstop. my two yr old doesnt have any symptoms prolly cuz i stopped taking naps with her and give her shorter hugs now so she dont get it. if she does im going to be pissed and go beat up my skanky cheating ex boyfriend and demand payment for all the treatments!
The best way to get rid of scabies if the cream doesn't work for you....cause anyone that has had it knows that if you don't use the entire cream after the hot bath will cause the scabies to become ammuned. The next step is to take a hot bath with a half bottle of tea tree oil....and wash ur linens and any clothing....vaccum rugs and any material u sit on. Sleep wake up and change ur sheets cause the tea tree oil is gonna stink.

my friends first thought it was poison ivy. I was living with them for 2 weeks and a few weeks later i started getting bumps and then small looking blisters on my toes then fingers. Soon red bumps started showing up in small patches. My hands, feet, arms, armpits, back of knees, stomach, inner thighs, pubic area, and back all started iching to the point im not getting sleep. Im 26 weeks pregnant also. I seen my doc and she just told me to get cortizone which is anti itch cream. It doesnt work. After reading everything online about scabies i am very upset, my husband is pissed and i dont want my 15 month son to get it. I also live in a home with another couple with a 3 month old. I feel horrible bc we will all have to be treated now.
i have had scabies pretty much since i was 14 weeks pregnant, im now 27 weeks.... I used the lyclear cream twice but another dr told me she would never had prescribed that to me and that it wasnt safe for the baby... i was about 17-18 weeks when i used the cream and my baby is moving around fine.... 3 out of my 6 kids got miner rash so i treated all 6 kids... Last week a few of my kids and i started coming up with a rash, i did everything from washing in hot water and tumble dryng everything that could be washed... My stupid ex came around and visited the kids 2 weeks after the kids and i had finished our treatment, he had only been to the dr that day and got his creams, but didnt go to the bathroom and apply it till after he gave the kids a cuddle.. grrrrr....... Now im scared on what to use while pregnant??????
My niece and I started itching about two weeks ago. My sister in law took her to the doctor only to find out it is scabies. Now not only do we have it, so does five other people we have been in contact with. This spreads very fast and it is very embarrasing. I am now worried that my grandson is going to get it. Does anyone know how this gets started because I have racked my brain trying to figure it out? Also how long are you still contagious after using prescription cream?
my budes have the scabbies to and it started from the lake and a freind got them and gave them to my buddies those dame scabbies they suck lol.
I haven't had experience with scabbies but I think my friends kids might have them. Someone mentioned that they use neem oil in India. I would suggest giving this a try, exspecially if you are pregnant or if your dealing with young children. Nix and some of the other prescribed meds that are being mentioned are pesticides that are very toxic. Neem oil is great for treating lice and since some are saying Nix I'm guessing that dr are advising similiar treatments. My kids all had lice last summer and we treated it completely organically and got rid of them quick.
I don't understand why dogs can take a pill once a month and not get fleas and ticks but our kids cant take something once a month to protect them from lice and scabbies..just like we can take a pill monthly to prevent pregnancy but no shots or pills available to protect your pooches...You would think as simple as this idea is to come up with it would not be that big a step to change a few chemicals of a pill so humans could have monthy protection like our furry friends do. It has to be pretty complicated I guess if our scientist can invent shots to prevent the flu and chicken pox. I mean dogs have a liquid to squirt on the back of their neck, a once monthy pill, and for emergencies capstar the pill that kills all in 24 hrs.I'm sorry I just can't see how it would be that far of a leap to take a little time to peek and tweek these formula's into products safe for use. I know as a mother I would buy a monthy pill to prevent my child from getting lice and as a dog owner I would buy my dog protection against pregnancy so I could choose with what and when if I ever did breed her.
I have them, and I am worried that they wont go away. 17, girl in highschool and I cant miss many days. I took the perthin cream and then found out it can give me cancer (great!) I dont feel like its working. The itching has gone down a bit but I am still inflamed on my inner thighs and my hands, arms, thighs, legs.. (mostly on hands & inner thighs) I feel horrible.. No matter how much I bathe I still feel dirty. If there is NO cure for scabies.. what am I supposed to do? Sit here and wait for it to end? My parents haven't shown signs or anything. Cleaned everything..I cant sleep on my bed and I sleep on the couch all the time now because If I sleep in my bed I get too hot and begin to itch.

i just got scabies im 19, girl and it is so itchy it feels so gross i cant sleep and cant stop scratching the doctor gave me lyclear and it is feeling a little better but before i knew what it was i scratched it and rubbed my eyes with it now my eyes are itchy and puffy but there isn't any of those little bumps on my eye lids. do you think it has gotten to my eyes? also my genital area is inflamed is that meant to happen? :(
Well i had scabies for about 3 month and still no cure the doctor think its something wrong with my skin so they sent me to another doctor he still gave me the same creams as my regular doctor plz if anybody can help im open to suggestion
urgh!! first i had uticaria, then pityrisis rosea. and now i think i might have gotten scabies based on the symptoms i looked up on the net. its damn itchy!! i know i have high level of stress which might have contributed to those initial skin disorders. but just as i'm about to lower my stress level, these buggers came burrowing!!! give me a break!!!!!

i am steriods for arthritis and have been told to be careful of shigles etc. should i be concerned about some one libing close to me who has scabbies?
