Heartgard Plus

Heartgard Plus is a veterinary medicament to treat and prevent heartworm disease. It is designed to help your dog or cat to fight these disease. Heartgard is prescribed for dogs and cats in a form of beef flavored chewable. Main ingredient in Heartgard is invermectin.

Heartgard is approved for use on dogs of all weights, sizes, and breeds of dogs, but they should be tested for existing heartworm infections prior to beginning medication.

Heartgard Plus chewable tablets prevent heartworm disease in dogs by eliminating the heartworm larvae in the month before treatment. Side effects in cats could be agitation, loss of appetite, dilated pupils, tremors, blindness or disorientation. I know.These sideffects seem pretty serious.

Heartgard should be used only when your pet has heartworms, so make sure to visit your veterinary prior to starting with it. Heartgard for cats is available in a once-monthly chewable tablets and aids in the removal and control of hookworms as well as heartworms. The product is recommended for use in cats of any weight, 6 weeks of age and older.

Ingredients:

Invermectin is a base offensive ingredient to combat heartworms, which could be potential death bringers. These medications work by killing any immature worms in the blood or tissues which were injected by an infected mosquito.

Pyrantel pamoate also interferes with the parasite's nerve transmission, causing paralysis and death of intestinal worms. Both ingredients work together to help Heartgard kill those worms in your pet.

There are several symptoms of Invermectin overdose:

• depression

• unsteady gait

• dilated pupils

• vomiting

Prevention is much better than cure in the case of heartworms. You should consult your veterinary prior to use Heartgard Plus.

Make sure to give Heartgard to your dog each month as suggested. Use the stickers that come in the package with Heartgard to mark a calendar for when it's time for a dose of Heartgard. If you do forget, the medicament may not be efficient.
